Johnny Whispers
On June 15, 2017, long-time friends Johnny Ong and Joel Reyes, led a team of investigative journalists to a war-zone. Their mission: to uncover the conflict between an unknown terrorist group and the military forces. However, things took a tragic turn. With support from the government, the terrorists saw them as a threat and began to shower them with bullets. Joel survived but his colleagues, along with his best friend, Johnny, were shot dead.
A few weeks later, Joel was able to go back to his wife in Manila. The ghost of Johnny followed him home. As days go by, Joel was slowly being corrupted mentally and physically. Hoping to get things back the way it was before.
Director Biography
A student filmmaker based in Manila. I began my career writing short screenplays and turning it into film. Now I direct not just films but music videos and commercials.
Director Statement
Hopefully this film captures the horrors of war in the modern age and how it corrupts the minds of not just soldiers but also journalists post-war. A sickness that is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or “Shellshock” which has led victims to commit suicide.
